Diva Dana, a fellow guild member and I are chairing the 2014 Great Lakes African American Quilters Network 2014 Quilt Show October 4th and 5th in Livonia, Michigan. Typically we have over 100 quilts on display. We have food, make and take sessions, special exhibits,  a number of giveaways,  a wearables exhibit and more. The members also wear something to be identified as a member of the guild.  For this show,  we decided to wear aprons made with ethnic themed fabric. Each member will have an opportunity to make their own apron. This will be an opportunity for them to use up some of their stash. We designed the apron and will me holding a workshop to help members make their aprons in January. I made a sample apron to show at our guild meeting this Saturday.  I used a jelly roll I received as a gift and still have some fabric left for another project.

We will also be making the pattern available to members.

Till next time. …
